Charter Poets to Move The Charter
Montreal’s Charter Poets will be movin’ the charter, a 4-foot by 8-foot panel incorporating section 3 of the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms. The artwork was painted by karen elaine spencer and incorporates the most spoken languages in Montreal: Tagalog, Greek, Cree, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, and Haitian Creole.
The Charter Poets comprise J.J. Lokshtanov, Blossom Thom, Ken McLaughlan, and Caroline Filler.
Following its arrival in Verdun, The Charter Poets will read a variety of Charter-related poetry between Noon and 1 PM, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Itinerary
10:30 AM, Friday Aug 23
Depart from 1001 rue Lenoir. Walk the Charter to Verdun. Arrive approx 11:45, Willibrord and Wellington.
Likely route: Lenoir to St Jacques to Courcelle, south on Courcelle, west on St Amboise, south on St. Remi, south on de L’Eglise, west on Wellington to street booth near Willibrord or 1st Ave.
